The Madrones & The Bohemian Chemist in Anderson Valley
Nestled between sun-drenched vineyards, legacy cannabis farms and redwood forest, The Madrones is a Mediterranean compound in the southern most part of the Emerald Triangle, boasting two tasting rooms, elegant guest accommodations, as well as a cannabis apothecary & lounge, boutique gift shop, and an intimate restaurant serving wood fired cuisine—all in the heart of the bucolic Anderson Valley.
The Bohemian Chemist is a gorgeous dispensary onsite specializing in craft, sun-grown flower from a second generation farm (it’s also a Cultural Landmark on The Cannabis Trail). The herbal apothecary also carries edibles, vapes and other cannabis merchandise. Smoking is permitted in the personal area outside select rooms at The Madrones & for all guests in the Consumption Lounge. The Consumption Lounge at The Bohemian Chemist is a beautiful outdoor space where guests can relax and enjoy their cannabis of choice. There is a fire pit to provide a little warmth on chilly nights when the sky is extra full of stars. You might get lucky with a visit from one of the property’s cats (we are big fans of Blanche).
From May through September, The Bohemian Chemis hosts a Cannabis Weekend the 3rd weekend every month. Whether you are a cannabis connoisseur or just cannabis curious, these weekends are both a gorgeous getaway and an exploration of Mendocino County's prized plant. The fun starts late morning on Saturday with a farm tour of Sugar Hill Farm, where Jim and Brian grow heritage, landrace cannabis for The Bohemian Chemist. Saturday night revelries in the Consumption Lounge feature live music, movies and more. Then on Sunday, a Craft Marketplace gives you the opportunity to meet small local cannabis farmers and purchase their product.
In addition to the Bohemian Chemist Dispensary, The Madrones has a restaurant, Wickson, specializing in wood-fired fare, The Sun & Cricket Gift Shop and two wine-tasting rooms. The sister property, The Brambles, is less than 400 yards away and is nestled in a stunning old-growth redwood forest that has access to Indian Creek for a splashy summer cool-off. Anderson Valley is home numerous restaurants, tasting rooms and hikes for guests to enjoy. It’s truly a gem that makes a perfect home base for a visit to beautiful Mendocino County.
